Abbey Barn South at High Wycombe
Our Proposals

Our Vision

Our vision for the future of Abbey Barn South is for a beautiful place where a new Extra Care community can enjoy their surroundings, a place that provides integration and links to the existing nature and green spaces. Abbey Barn South will provide a vibrant and sustainable mixed-use neighbourhood.

The people who will live in the new Extra Care facility will have their own self-contained homes. These high quality new homes are designed with the needs of older people in mind, with additional support available when needed giving independence and peace of mind.

The key feature of Abbey Barn South is the Parkland. We want to celebrate The Ride and reinstate the space into a destination in its own right. We are going to evolve the landscape, introducing informal play areas and a variety of recreational opportunities. New pathways will be woven throughout with new habitats and ecological planting reinforcing the Ride’s place and identity. This will be a place for all to enjoy.

This will be a special place with a distinctive character.

A place characterised by high quality bespoke homes set within individual landscaped pockets.

This will be a place for all. A truly inclusive community, with distinctive places to meet and to learn, engage and experience the surrounding landscape. Our vision and ethos centres upon placemaking, not housebuilding, by creating places and communities.

Our new neighbourhood will provide residents with a range of shared facilities including a residents lounge, guest suites, laundry room, dining area, health/ fitness facility and hobby rooms.

Berkeley Group is responding to the growing demand for high quality homes for older people by incorporating Extra Care into our developments. The homes benefit from the same attention to detail, care and excellence that we bring to all our houses and share the facilities of the wider development such as new parkland and open space.
